Dr. Randolph “Randy” Birsch was raised in Chesapeake, Virginia and graduated with a bachelor of science in biochemistry from Old Dominion University in 2004. During his time at ODU, Dr. Birsch worked with NASA Langley Research Center where he contributed to the research team that earned the National Commercial Invention of the Year Award. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine and earned his dental degree in 2010.

Following dental school, Dr. Birsch joined the US Army and served honorably as a dental corps officer until 2018 when he began his endodontics training at Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He received his Certificate in Endodontics and masters degree from BU in 2021.

Dr. Birsch is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Richmond Dental Society, and Spear Dental Study Club.  He volunteers his time with VDA Mission of Mercy projects and Crossover Healthcare Ministry in Richmond.  He looks forward to investing in the Southside Virginia community and participating in local outreach with our team.

When not in the dental clinic, Dr. Birsch enjoys participating in his children’s school activities, traveling, and exploring new restaurants with his family. He and his wife Lea often can be found with their three children enjoying outdoor parks and museums around the greater Richmond area.
